Submitting Pictures |
| 1. | How do I Submit a Picture to StrangestPictm?
You can always find the 'Submit Picture' link on the top right corner of all StrangestPictm pages. All pictures are directly uploaded from your computer. Take me to the Submit Picture form! The Submit Picture form takes you through the process, you will be asked to add as many keyword Tags as you can along with your best title! FYI: Keyword Tags help make your picture searchable and titles help increase your ratings by almost double!

No registration is required! But so you know, registration is pretty easy and gets you more cool features! Take me to Registration

No, we're a free picture rating site - it's all just fun!

No, StrangestPictm does not limit the number of pictures any one user can submit!

Yes and no! All anonymously posted pictures continue receiving ratings.
Only registered users get to decide which pictures receive ratings and when! In Account Pages we provide an easy Post and Un-Post toggle, just click on the 'My Items' tab to change your picture visibility. When you click 'Post,' your pictures are made visible on your Public Profile and in picture ratings.

| 6. | What are your picture content guidelines?
If a user deems the picture strange, weird, bizarre, odd, then we do too! After you Submit A Picture, it's up to users to deem your picture a Strangest rating. Picture content must be real! Please no cartoons or graphical images. We shy away from Photoshop or fake pictures. To see what users are submitting and the best of most recent and most emailed winners, go to the StrangestPictm Strangest Page.

| 7. | How do you screen for Adult Content, Spam and copyrighted Material?
All comments are subject to Adult Content Only and Spam or Garbage Flagging. All pictures are subject to these Flags above, in addition to Copyrighted Material. All repeated offenders (non-registered and registered) will be subject to a Flagging Warning log of their unique IP address, future submissions from the identified IP address may be disallowed. We encourage StrangestPictm users to click these Flags to help keep things fun and fair!

| 8. | What picture sizes, dimensions and format types do you allow?
We allow pictures to be no more than 500K in file size. Larger picture dimensions are better because the picture is more visible and easier to rate! We accept JPEG, GIF and PNG picture formats only. For help with this, on your computer, put the mouse over the picture, a display box should pop up showing picture details like size, dimensions and picture type. To modify picture size and dimensions you can use a combination of cropping and picture resize. If all else fails, click Submit Picture anyway and our site technology will help your picture fit.

| 9. | The system will not accept my picture, can you help?
Make sure your picture is no more than 500K in file size and in JPEG, GIF or PNG formats. If you have disabled your browser from accepting cookies, you need to Enable Cookies. See the instructions below for each browser type:
Internet Explorer:
- Go to the Tools tab in your browser menu.
- Click to select 'Internet Options.'
- Click to select the 'Content' tab.
- On the Content window click the 'Enable' button. (A new box should pop up).
- In the Content Advisor pop up box, click to select the tab 'Approved Sites.'
- Click to add www.strangestpic.com to your 'Always Approved list.'
Netscape Version 6.0 & 7.0:
- Open the Edit Menu.
- Click on 'Preferences.'
- In the Preferences window, click on 'Privacy and Security,' then click on 'Cookies.'
- For Version 6.0 or Version 7.0 you can click to select 'Enable All Cookies.'
- To Enable Cookies just for www.strangestpic.com follow these instructions: for Version 6.0 click to select 'Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server.' For Version 7.0, click to select 'Enable cookies for the originating website only,' then click 'OK.'
Mozilla FireFox:
- Click on 'Tools' on the menu bar.
- Click to select 'Options.'
- In the Options window, click to select 'Expand Cookies.'

| 10. | When I try to click 'Submit a Picture' form I get a "Page not found" or "Server not found" error. Can you help?
These error messages may mean your picture is taking too long to upload. Your server may be slow or picture too big. Try again or you may need to reduce the file size of your picture. We allow a maximum of 500K picture file size. If you still have no luck Email StrangestPictm for help at info@StrangestPic.com.

Immediately after you click 'Submit a Picture,' it is posted to StrangestPictm and will begin receiving ratings! I want to start Rating Pictures!

We want all users to make comments with ease and have fun, so we don't require registration or Sign In. However, if you would like to enjoy more site features click to Create an Account!

| 13. | How do I rate pictures with Non-Adult Content Only?
At StrangestPictm you can feel free to browse with your Adult preference using the drop down box above all pictures click either 'Non-Adult Content Only,' 'Adult Content Only' or 'Adult and Non-Adult Content.' Your preference will be remembered on all picture ratings and user profiles just make sure to turn on Remember Me at Sign In and set computer browser settings to Enable Cookies. The only exception is the Strangest page, all users are warned of Adult content before entering.

If you click the Flags under each picture, 'Adult Material,' 'Broken Link,' 'Copyrighted Material,' and Nominate for 'Strangest,' you will help keep StrangestPictm fun and fair!

| 15. | Are my pictures nominated for the Strangest Page too?
Yes, every posted picture receiving ratings is eligible for Strangest page nominations - most recent, daily and most Emailed! Everytime a user clicks the 'Strangest' Flag or clicks 'Email Picture to a Friend,' their nominations get counted! Visit the Strangest Page to see if your picture is famous!

| 16. | How do I Email pictures from StrangestPictm to my friends?
You can Email any picture from StrangestPictm to multiple friends by clicking on the picture itself or the link below each picture 'Email This Picture to a Friend.'

| 17. | Can I contact other users and can they contact me through the site?
At present there is no way to contact users through our site, unless they disclose contact information and personal links. In the future, we will be offering SecureContactssm service. If you want other StrangestPictm users to contact you, we offer a Public Profile page where you can choose to display a personal introduction, Email, name, blog links, and other online profiles links. Hint: a properly chosen DisplayName may help to bring your online world together! Which details you disclose here and how you want to be contacted is completely up to you!

| 18. | How do I upgrade my account to add SecureContactssm?
At this time we do not offer contact services through the site, but you may, at your discretion include contact information on your Public Profile, or on websites linked to by your favorite links, and manage that information in your Account Pages. | 19. | What are keyword Tags and why should I add?
Tags are keywords or phrases that describe each picture. You can add as many keywords Tags as you wish! Some examples are as follows:
- House, car, furry, black, NYC, dogs, bikers, sports, piercings, tattoos, college, pets, animals, drinking, party, kissing, anime, owned
- Hello Kitty, hot dog, high school, boba tea, leather boots, hairy chest, hot tubs, Burning Man,
Tags help users find pictures which have something in common or share a particular theme, so the better you can tag a picture when you are filling out the Submit a Picture form, the more accurate and visible your pictures will be throughout the site! Keyword Tags are used in StrangestPictm Search, during picture rating filtering and Include and Exclude keyword Tags.

| 20. | When do I add keyword Tags?
Keyword Tags are only added when you Submit a Picture. The form will allow you to add as many keyword Tags as you think describe the picture.

| 21. | How does keyword Tag Filtering work and how do I add, delete and clear all of my Including & Excluding Tags?
When rating pictures you can Include and Exclude keyword Tags to filter in and out particular picture themes. To use, insert your desired Tags in the Including Tags and Excluding Tags fields. You can add as many Tags as you wish, just separate each Tag by commas and click the button 'Go,' clicking the 'Enter' key will work too! To delete individual Tags from Filtering pictures just click on the desired tag or to delete all tags by clicking on 'Clear All.' See Examples below for detailed help:
- To see more pictures about tattoos add the keyword Tag "tattoos" to the Including Tags box.
- At the same time, you can Exclude keyword Tags from your picture rating. For example, if you do not want to see pictures about cars, add the Tag "cars" to the Excluding Tags box.
- Not good enough, you decide you do not want to see pictures about people, put a comma after the word "car" and add the tag "people" to the Excluding Tag box.
- Okay, you've changed your mind, to delete "cars" from filtering, just click on the word "cars."
- To completely start over and delete all Tags just click on the 'Clear All' button and start fresh!

| 22. | How does StrangestPictm Picture Search and Profile Search work?
Picture Search is a fun way to find new and old pictures to rate, we index title words and keyword Tags so it's easy. To use StrangestPictm Profile Search, a Contact Me feature, you can search for profiles by thinking of Tags, Tags by interest, theme or personal user stats. To search for other users, insert the word "by," the colon sympbol ":" and a user's DisplayName, an example is as follows: 'by:DisplayName.' Show me an example: Picture Search for 'tattoos'!

| 23. | How does StrangestPictm Wild Card Search work?
StrangestPictm Wild Card Search pairs any letter or partial word with the Asterick (*) or Star key. See examples below:
- Wild Card Scenario 1: You want to search for anything, pictures or users, that that start with the letters "don." To do this, just type "don" and the asterick "*" symbol on your keyboard. It will look like this: 'don*' in the search box, click 'Enter' to see what Wild Search results come up!
- Wild Card Scenario 2: You only remember the first 3 letters of a StrangestPictm user's DisplayName, in this case Wild Card Search will do you right! Insert, for example, 'Pip*' to find the profile that belongs to the user "Pipster."

| 24. | What can I display on my StrangestPictm Public Profile?
So glad you asked this one! Your Public Profile displays all pictures and titles you posted in a public state, last comment and number of comments per picture, and optional personal and Contact Me details such as introduction, DisplayName, name, age, location, Email and favorite links. You can also link your StrangestPictm profile to your other online profiles, blogs and websites!

| 25. | How do I edit my Public Profile?
To edit your Public Profile, click 'Sign in' and go to Account Pages. A link to Account Pages is always displayed on the top right corner of every StrangestPictm page. Click on the tab 'My Profile' to edit anything related to your Public Profile page. Once signed in, you can toggle back and forth making edits from the My Profile tab and checking these by clicking on 'Go to Public Profile.' Once on your Public Profile, you can return to edit more by clicking on the link next to your DisplayName titled, 'Edit Profile.'

| 26. | How can I add StrangestPictm to my website, blog or other online profiles?
After fooling around with some tech stuff we are launching two kick ass widgets so you can add StrangestPictm stuff to your website, blog or other online profiles! Just a few lines of code to add these features, see what they're about below:
- Plug-In 1: Picture & Profile Search plug-in is a search box kinda like the one on this site, but of course it will be on yours! Visitors and friends will be able to search for strange pictures and find your StrangestPictm stuff!
- Plug-In 2: The Picture Slideshow is a fun plug-in that gets your site traffic and friends seeing lots of strange pictures, if they see one they like they can click to see the close up and rate it!

| 27. | I saw it once before...How do I get to my Comment Stats Panel?
You can find your latest Comment Stats on a picture by picture basis on one panel, just go to Account Pages, click on the link 'Go to Public Profile.' Your Public Pictures and Comment Stats Panel will show Last Comment and Number of Comments for each picture! To comment, just click on the comment link and you're in!

| 28. | What is picture Post & Un-Post mode and how do I work it?
Pictures in Post mode are public, visible on your Public Profile and will receive ratings, comments and are searchable! Pictures in Un-Post mode are private, only visible on the My Items tab of Account Pages. To manage picture Post and Un-Post status, sign in and go directly to the top right corner of every StrangestPictm webpage, click on the link 'Account Pages' and go to the tab My Items, in My Items you can decide to Post and Un-Post all your pictures.

| 29. | If I click 'Un-Post' a picture from public mode will it lose current picture rating and comments?
No. Anytime you click 'Un-Post' a picture, although you stop picture ratings and comments, these remain preserved. To make picture ratings and comments live again just click on the 'My Items' tab on your Account Pages to go to Post your picture Post and Un-Post status.

To remove picture visibility from picture ratings and your Public Profile, just click on the 'My Items' tab in Account Pages, find the picture you want to remove and click 'Un-Post.'

To find your picture ratings, just go to your pictures either on your Public Profile or on the My Items Tab in Account Pages.

Ok, do we really need to spell this out….? Besides uploading real, strange, quality pictures, you can add catchy titles and properly assign keyword Tags when you Submit a Picture! Also, your own comments get things going, throw more attention on your stuff and more interest in your Public Profile! For your blog, other online profile pages, and websites, you can add StrangestPictm Picture Slideshow and Search plug-ins. These plug-ins will get your site traffic and friends seeing strange extreme pics! Alongside these plug-ins, you can list your common StrangestPictm keyword Tags - this will show your friends how to easily find your submitted pics and other favorites. | 33. | Why do I need to add a title when I Submit a Picture?
Picture titles add a little somethn' somethn' to each picture, increase picture ratings and actually making your pictures more searchable for StrangestPictm Search!

| 34. | What is the Remember Me feature and how does it work?
For registered users, when you check the Remember Me box on your Sign In page, you turn this feature on. When Remember Me is on you can return as your registered StrangestPictm user, without signing in. To save the Remember Me setting, your browser cookies must be set to Enable Cookies. If you clear your cookies, you'll need to click through 'Sign In' again!

Try copying and pasting the link into your browser. Note: This is more common with AOL users, for some reason.

Make sure your Email program, website preferences or virus protection software doesn't have any sort of Email filtering going on.

| 37. | Do I click 'Sign In' using my Email or DisplayName?
This is a trick question! You can click through Sign In using your Email or StrangestPictm DisplayName.

| 38. | How do I change my registered Email address or password?
To change your registered Email address or password, click 'Sign In' and go to Account Pages, click on the 'My Profile' tab and make necessary edits!

| 39. | I forgot my password, can you help?
If you forgot your password, just click on the link 'Forgot Your Password' at the bottom of the Sign In box.

| 40. | Every time I click Sign In and do anything, the system asks me to sign in again! How do I stop this infinite loop?
It's possible your cookie file is corrupted somehow. To reset it you will need to delete it by:
- Close all of your browser windows.
- In your Start Menu, click to select the 'Search/Find File' function.
- Look for www.strangestpic.com within your Windows Directory (probably c:\windows\). Make sure it searches in subfolders too.
- Delete the file it finds.
- Restart your browser.

| 41. | I'm not receiving Emails back from StrangestPictm, can you help?
To ensure that your StrangestPictm Email is delivered properly to your inbox folder, see below descriptions.
Yahoo Users: To receive StrangestPictm Email in your inbox and not the Bulk Mail folder, you can instruct Yahoo to filter it to your Inbox.
- Open your Yahoo Mail.
- Click 'Mail Options' on upper right.
- Click on 'Block Addresses.'
- In the Remove Block list, which is alphabetically sorted, look to see if the address info@StrangestPic.com is in there.
- If it is there, select it, and then hit the 'Remove Block' button below.
- Finally, add info@strangestpic.com to your Yahoo address book, this will help assure that future emails from us reach you.
Hotmail Users: To receive StrangestPictm Email in your inbox you will need to add info@StrangestPic.com Email to your Safe List.
- Click to select the 'Options' tab.
- Click to select 'Safe List.' (It's under the heading Mail Handling.)
- In the space provided, enter the address info@StrangestPic.com. Click 'Add.'
- When you see the address you entered in the Safe List box, click 'OK.'
AOL Users: To receive StrangestPictm Email in your inbox you will need to set your Mail Controls.
- Go to Keyword Mail Controls.
- Select the screen name we're sending your StrangestPictm Email to.
- Click 'Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name.'
- For AOL version 7.0: In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters," include the domain www.strangestpic.com.
- For AOL version 8.0: Select 'Allow Email' from all AOL members, Email addresses and domains.
- Click 'Next' until the Save button shows up at the bottom.
- Click 'Save.'
